Andy Bichel says loss against Mumbai was a wake-up call ? cricket news update

Chennai Super Kings bowling coach Andy Bichel. On Monday said that the humiliating crushing at the hands of Mumbai Indians had hurt the pride of his players adding that the loss came as a wake-up call for the team.

Chennai, who are set to take debutants Sunrisers Hyderabad here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad today, are coming into the match at the back of a 60-run crushing at the hands of Mumbai, where the whole Chennai line up was bowled out for just 79 runs.

While speaking to media reporters here in Hyderabad, Bichel said that after winning seven games in a row, the defeat was needed for the Dhoni led Chennai set up.

"When you have seven wins in a row, everything is going well for you and you tend to look at the positives of the game. I think it was probably a loss that we needed,? said the Chennai Super Kings bowling coach during a media encounter on the eve of the match.

?It has really put us back in a position of working hard and finding how we won those matches. There are fantastic players in our team who play with a lot of pride. The loss against Mumbai hurt them pretty bad. It will be a challenge for us to bounce back on Wednesday," Bichel went on to add.?

The two-time former champions hold an impressive record at home, but their away record is not that encouraging. However, Bichel expressed satisfaction over his side?s away record and hoped to take the momentum into the Hyderabad encounter.

"We have done pretty well so far, winning matches away from home. Hopefully we can continue that trend here in Hyderabad," said the Chennai bowling mentor.

Hyderabad pitch has thus far played on the slower side, with a highest total just 130, and Bichel said that playing on a sluggish track would be a challenge for his team.

With ten wins from 13 matches so far, MS Dhoni led Super Kings comfortably sit at the top of the nine-team tournament?s points table, and have also been assured a spot in the IPL play offs.
